I'm 37 and have candida. I just quit taking my birth control pills since they exacerbate the condition and I'm about to start the cleansing routines to attack the candida.
It's been 4 weeks since I've stopped taking them (after being on them 4 years), and some symptoms that I had before I started taking them have returned. They are: very oily scalp and skin, breast tenderness, irritability, hair on face growing faster and darker, food cravings. All of these things would happen on a much smaller scale for 2 days before my period when I was taking the pill, but now it's extreme and constant since getting off the pill.
I should add that I'm hypothyroid and have had been diagnosed with "idiopathic hirsutism" after 10 years of hormone tests and endocronologists throwing up their hands in trying to find a reason for my pronounced hairiness and other symptoms even though all the very expensive tests were essentially normal.
Does anyone know which hormones may be out of balance, and if so how to regulate them naturally? The idea of spending more $$ with endocronologists who don't take the time to unravell this syndrome is disheartening. I'm used to things being interconnected from having candida, where the precursor to symptoms is 2 systems behind the manifestation, and hormones seem to be the same way with the trigger of the imbalance being 4 hormonal reactions behind the result. I hope that this mystery is a little easier to unravel and cure.
Any ideas?
