Hey!
You're doing great! I completely understand your feeling of not going fast enough. I'm as impatient as they come...with myself of course ; )
Imagine is a friend was doing what you're doing. You wouldn't beat them up for slipping up now and then, would you? When I beat up on myself, I try to imagine that a friend hears this negative stuff and says, "Hey, don't beat up on my friend like that!"
I did a fast about 2.5 years ago that cured my asthma, and
Liver Cleanses booted out those allergies. But, for the past six months I was traveling for work and goodnesssss...the things I ate.... But, I'm back on the wagon, and I do slip here and there, but all you can do is all you can do.
I think there are so many rules about health out there that it is easy to get overwhelmed. I know I do. Fortunately there are people like Shelley who devote their time to helping us along.
Read the "How to cheat" on Shelley's FAQ. It just shows that we all have our temptationgs. Sometimes just better to go with it, but know what to do to help remedy it.
A practical tip is to be sure to have some yummy snacks around...dried fruit, nuts, whatever it is that you crave. Sometimes that hits the spot.
Also, are you following ayurveda? If so, remember that you need all six tastes daily... sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent, and astringent. I'm still learning how to work these into my diet, but "we're trying."
Take care, and be good to you!
