I had my first one month follow-up with my dr (a naturopath) yesterday. I've been doing the diet and antifungals for about 8 weeks, then when my diagnosis became official one month ago, I got the probiotic HLC Intensive. Anyway, in another post I described that my initial problems of sleeplesness and severe palpitations had abated, and I had been sleeping quite well for the last 2 or so months on the diet.
I even saw what has been described on this board as "white strings" in the process of elimination for more than a week now.
Anyway, it just so happened that the night before my dr visit I had a complete relapse. I did nothing differently to cause it, but I was up all night with palpitations and went to the dr sleepless. I said to her "If you had seen me the day before, I would have said I was doing great." Anyway, she said that my relapse was from not rotating my diet enough, since I was eating walnuts and lentil soup every day. I asked her if it could be a healing reaction, and she says there is no healing reaction with candida, only with detoxing. I did not argue with her.
I also asked her if it's possible to see yeast in the stool, and she said, no because it's microscopic. I went home and saw websites that state to the contrary.
I also see yeast in my urine, by the way. Also, while I was there, I complained of fullness in my ear and she removed wax. Then at home I saw an article on healing that states that toxins leave not only by the ways we think of such as skin, urine, stool etc, but even the ears! Isn't it significant that my ear starting bothering the last 2 days, when my relaspe started? Anyway, I had a 2nd bad night last night.
But I also have very frequent bowel movements, not loose at all, and with lots of white stuff. I seem to feel optimistic that I am detoxing, rather than relasping. But who knows? Does anyone else think this is a new stage of healing, or did I relapse?

What are you eating? I hope you are not eating any dairy or fruit or juice or anything like that. Let me say that palpations were one of the symptoms I used to have. I used to not be able to sleep because my heart would start racing and I would feel wound up and then just have to get out of bed. I found that is was caused by yeast not by healing reaction. I also believe it was due to inadeqate water consumption. In my opinion when the heart starts pounding , the little yeasties want something. I found that if when the heart racing started I would drink a little milk and it would go away. That tells me that the yeast wanted something and I pacified them. Of course you would not want to do this. But it proves my point. Also, it can be caused by toxin buid up and dehydration. Did you have enough water? Was your urine dark yellow? Also are you taking vitamins because you might need Calcium, magnesium and potassium which would help greatly with the heart pounding. Anyway to clarify, my heart would feel as if I ran ab out 1 mile up hill and I could not get it to slow down. Is that how your feels? If so, when this happens give yourself a cold compress and drink a ice cold glass of water and do not allow yourself to breath rapidly. You can calm down your breathing and your heart rate. Go into a quiet room where you will not be disturbed and focus on breathing slowly , slwo deep breath slow in and slow out. Sometimes I find that pacing very slowly, and concentrating on breathing slowly and I could get my hear to to stop.
There is a good possibility your are eating something you should not be eating. A pounding heart can be a reaction to caffeine, eating something wrong or especially something moldy like leftovers. And by the way many nuts are notoriously moldy. So if I were you you need to think about what it is you have done in the last 3 days to a week differently. Have you added anything to the diet recently. Have you been eating nuts, dairy etc. Have you been taking vitamins etc.

This is a reply to # 293,666Nope, nothing different. The dr says that the PROBLEM is from not changing my diet. I drink lots and lots of water and water only throughout the day. The 2 fruits I allow myself, which are on the "accepted" list for candida, are apples and blueberries. No other fruits or juices. I take all the necessary supplements, and I have been a vitamin and supplement taker my whole adult life.
I cut out walnuts as of yesterday, as I had been eating walnuts. For the rest it's all beans, organic eggs, vegetables, chicken and turkey. That's about it.
As a PS I want to add that during my 2 day "relapse" of symptoms I have been having night sweats which I wasn't having, and also nasal congestion. Seems like all my orifices are exuding something. The vaginal itch has increased greatly also. How many yeast-filled b.m.s did I have today, 7 maybe? I'm still betting on die-off. Am I being overly optimistic?- Re: Feedback, Please! I hate to say this but you must stop eating the fruit asap. What you are having is an increse in the yeast not die-off. Fruit is a no no. It contains fructose, and should not be consumed until much later in the process.- Re: Feedback, Please! (Very Confused... remi96

I will add that any food is only safe if YOU can tolerate it. Carrots are listed as sae, but right now I cannot take them. Hope that helps. You may not want to admit it or hear it , but you choice it to keep suffering with palpations then.

I guess you never the heard the saying that you can be dead right. Well I am telling you most people cannot eat fruit, at all. If you choose to do so that is up to do. You asked for help and feedback and you got it. Problem you really don't want to hear it because you don't want to give up the fruit. After you continue to suffer the palpitations you might feel differently. you need to realize that is a STRONG POSSIBILITY that you might be one of those people that cannot handle fruit. And I am really not concerned about what they say at diagnose-me.com. The truth is that you can ask 100 people adn get as many different answers. I am telling you that if you are on a diet and symptoms that had been gone re-appear something you are eating is doing it. Now if you choose to suffer instead of eliminate fruit that is your decision. It tooks me a while to give up a few things I did not want to give up either. it is hard to keep giving stuff up. But it is a sacrafice you makle to regain full health and eventually be able to eat everything again. Unless you want to suffer for many years with candidiasis like many have. I don't I choose to get better and I completely commited and I don't care if I only eat broccoli morning noon and night if that is what it takes. Since for me it will only be a temporary sacrafice b/c I will get better. Because I am willing to do whatever it will take.
Sounds to me like you belive what you want to believe. So let me get this straight, you believe everything they say at diagnose-me.com but you don't listen to your dr. naturopath.You might as well face it Lynne, We are in this alone to an extent. These drs. that are trying to help have never actually suffered with this illness so they really don't know.
Whatever it is you are doing is the very reason you are not getting better. Until you are willing to take a hard look and realize anything can be the culprit, you will continue to have these attacks, sorry to say it. But you have to be willing to question anything...anything.
And I can tell you right now, I could not and still cannot eat fruit without having symptoms, the exact ones you are talking about.
And you really shouod not take offense to anything anyone is telling you in this board, people are only trying to help you. Anfd the people helping you have lived thru candida and in my book experience is the best teacher.

I asked her yesterday, and she said "YES!". Why do you say I choose not to listen to my doctor? She told me to ROTATE walnuts, not even to give them up completely, but I stopped them for now. I think you are being WWWAAAAYYY to critical of me and jumping to conclusions about me.

Foods that can be eaten freely include all vegetables, protein sources (legumes, fish, poultry, and meat), and whole grains. Two to three one-cup servings of the following fruit can be eaten per day as well: apples, blueberries, cherries, other berries, and pears.

exercise kills candida because it prmomotes oxygen flow in the blood and candida hates oxygen.

This is a reply to # 293,665Walnuts have the kind of skins that easily rot before they dry, so the toxins created by the decay (as it were) may be giving you the reaction, including diarrhea. Certain nuts, including walnuts, do that to me. You might try eliminating them and see what happens, especially if you've been eating a lot of them. This is a reply to # 293,675I'm so sorry your'e having a rough go of it right now. I'd have to agree with Michelle, though, about the fruit, even the berries. I know there are some sites that say certain fruits are ok. But both Michelle and I have had horrible experiences with fruits. When my candida cure was in the early stage, as yours is, I did not even eat 1/8 of a granny smith apple, let alone cherries or pears, and 3 cups a day of fruit allowed??? Who put up that Web site? This person could not have ever personally had candidiasis. Yikes! I'd have been in the ER!!! I ate none of the fruit you mentioned, not even one blueberry. Pear juice is used to sweeten many foods and used just like Sugar because there's so much fruit Sugar in them. Cherries are very sweet as well. No wonder you're feeling ill. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but better to find out now rather than later. Be well. We'll be rooting for you. :o)Advertisement

This is a reply to # 293,676When I was on the diet I didn't eat fruit at all. It was 4 months with no cheating. I then tried to eat green apples...some days I could handle it...other days I would react (strongly).
I got diagnosed with gluten sensitivity and got radical about avoiding gluten...even in my lotion and cosmetics. I noticed huge improvement right away and ever since I got this diagnosis I have been eating all fruits except citrus with no problems. The only time I react is if I mess up on my diet...its like my gut becomes raw and so most foods will bother me for up to a week....during this time I will react to the fruits but since I now know its not yeast causing the reaction I'm not afraid to eat them and I do get better.
I was constipated during my illness and during the candida diet I was doing daily enemas. Now I'm regular..at least once a day. While I was doing the antifungals and enemas I saw all the mucus and white threads and flakes. I was excited but when I told my ND (who diagnosed me with systemic candida) she said the only way candida can be seen is under the microscope.I never found any info online about it so I came to the conclusion that its not yeast we are seeing. If it were so easily seen wouldnt we be able to verify it through tests?
Anyways I dont take antifungals anymore and I feel much better just eating healthy and avoiding gluten and dairy.

BLUEBERRIES
In addition to soluble and insoluble fibre, blueberries also contain tannins, which act as astringents in the digestive system to reduce inflammation. Blueberries also promote urinary tract health. They found that pterostilbene worked as well as the commercial cholesterol- lowering drug Ciprofibrate™ and had fewer side effects, researchers said. Since plants produce pterostilbene in response to stresses such as fungal infection, it may also be a promising compound to develop into a natural-based fungicide.

This is a reply to # 293,676Unfortunately Lynne has an issue with the fact that I said fruit was the culprit. Hey we are all trying to get well here. And everyone in this board has lived thru it and it ahs been HELL! Fruit is a huge no no in my book. And anyone eating it will realize, question is sooner or later. Hopw muc time on the diet to you want to spend just so you can keep eating fruit. Lets say if you eat fruit you never really fully get better, and if you don't eat fruit it will take 4 months. Seems like a no brainer.
We all feel the same way, there were things I used to eat that I thought were okay , then the years pass bby , all the while your never 100% healthy and then wham you get a little worn down, or stressed and now the yeast is rampant. Your not really helping yourself. Only prolonging the inevitable.
Oh well, All we can do is speak the truth
But I will tell you right now I wqould love to eat fruit but it would kill me and set me back months, no way and am I gonna chance all my hard work. And that is what Lynne is doing, she might as well go off the diet all together- Re: Sorry Lynne our posts crossed an... LynneChrys

My doctor was more upset with me for not rotating foods than for anything else. If I were eating broccoli for breakfast lunch and dinner every day she would tell me I might as well just go off the diet.
By the way, I just started posting here this week, and already I have been branded a heretic and a rebel because my doctor said I can eat apples and blueberries. Not all fruit, mind you, just those two. And those two are the only ones I have been eating. I plan to weigh all comments and feedback, I am not being beligerent about it. I just need to stop and consider all input.
