Hey guys. I have a boyfriend who seems to have candidiasis too. I read that systemic infections can't be passed on, only localized ones. But then I read that they can. Can anyone tell me which is it? It doesn't make any sense that candidiasis can be shared.
He was in a moldy environment for about a year, so I think that may be the cause, and not the fact that I have it... but I wanna make sure. Thanks- Re: sharing it dsmoore

Personally, I don't believe in the infection theory of disease. Germ theory was invented by Louis Pasteur, who recanted his own theory on his deathbed.
If germ theory were true, diseases like SARS, instead of being scare stories, really would sweep the planet..
What disease you get depends on how healthy you are. This has a lot to do with what you eat.
What people seem to forget is that there is plenty of candida in a healthy person. It only overgrows in people when it is "overfed". So I don't see how anyone could infect anyone else with candida if everyone has it anyway.

This is a reply to # 284,022Diseases most definitely can be passed on.
Candida, although I am not certain, ...Candidiasis is considered an STD and can be passed on through blood, saliva or semen.
The reason for this...in my estimation, would be only when the regular growth of candida transforms into the pathogenic state of Candida Albicans (then you have Candidiasis).
Everyone has regular Candida in their gut, as a source of food to your good bacteria that lives in there also. The ratio is suppusedly about 1000 healthy bacteria to 1 candida organism.
In the pathogenic state it is problematic, the candida grows legs/roots and can puncture the walls of your gut (Leaky Gut) and enter the bloodstream. When it enters the bloodstream it is then considered "Systemic" and can travel via the blood to ANY part of your body. For this reason, it can be passed on via blood/saliva/semen transferrance like any other STD.
