I've asked Chrisb1 so many questions that I hesitate to ask him another. So, I'll just throw this out to everyone. I feel this forum has died, and have been wondering if it's because of me. Should I leave? I do tend to get personal at times.
Anyway, I have one more question before I go. I've decided to do it...that is to go on a long Water Fast. My short Fasts have been encouraging, and I want more of a Good Thing. However, I feel I need to clean my Colon 'before' I start. I'm not into Colonics, or Enemas, so how would you do it? The Natural Hygienic point-of-view would be to let the Fast do it, but I'd like some other views. I remember Jack Goldstein, before his 6-weeks Water Fast, eating an ungodly assortment of different foods, and healing a disabling physical condition without first cleaning his colon. So it can be done that way.
The most important thing about Water Fasting is not the fast itself, but the Diet after the fast. It's like a Cancer. You may have it treated successfully, but if you don't eliminate the Cause, it will come back to haunt you again.
Maybe I should go to the Bowel Cleansing forum, but I feel some of you here may have some ideas.....WY

I don't share in your belief that this forum has died and quite to the contrary, but Chris has been such an amazing anchor that it is definately not the same without his consistent presence. Have you killed this forum? :). From my perspective you are one of the people keeping it alive and well.

Here,we are here. Exactly an year ago I was a brand new bee and I was spending hours and hours reading. Planning on doing the same in a week when I start my next fast.Now it is just your turn, WY
As long as you realize that this is not a chat room, you are fine. In and out - this forum has a pretty descent speed about conversating.I noticed some delays on weekends,but ppl have lives outside fasting so nothing personal about it...

Never did any type of cleancing before my first Water Fast 14 days. Got my detox symptoms right way regardless.
You are saying " The most important thing about Water Fasting is not the fast itself, but the Diet after the fast."... not really, these are 2 different things.
The most important thing about WF its detoxing , cleancing your body...This is the absolutly necessary condition in order to " rebuild" your new healthy body. Then - the refeeding comes & the diet aftrewards- sure, it is important.
I am not sure what exactly is your focus -WF or re feeding. But naturally, you need to start with fasting in order to give your body a chance for better adsorbtion etc

I know the forum has not died because of you. Sometimes it does go through slow and rough times, but it is people like you that help to keep it going. :)

This is a reply to # 1,734,232If you want to cleanse your colon just before Fasting, it would help your system to clean faster and better, if that is what you want. Not a real need to do that, because the body will clean your colon any way in an extended fast. BUT, and this is a big BUT, your healing crisis would be less and more bearable. This is, of course, relative to your level of Toxemia.
Would a cleanse help you minimize or not your crisis; only you can tell. It can give you a psychological benefit to do a Colon Cleanse before, anyway.
I did Oxypower before my first Fast. And as you say, the diet after fasting, that will eventually be the diet before the next fasting...all those periods are important.
It is a matter of choice. Whatever makes you feel more comfortable. Chrisb never gave it much importance because, as you may understand, regular Water Fasting keeps the entire system relatively non toxic.

This is a reply to # 1,734,232I think, I know what you mean Mr. Yogi. I say go ahead do the longer fasts.
But the idea of doing longer fasts is that you body will run on fat fuel rather than glucose fuel. So what you need to get rid of the fat soluble.
Doing colon cleansing will do little to get rid of the fat soluble. Colon cleansing helps to get rid of the water soluble.

There is a study supporting the notion that if you give your body what you crave (the so called ungodly assortment) just before a fast, It will go after that enhance the elimination of their substance.
Whichever way you go fasting is beneficial be it long or short. Studies are showing longevity of life in animals.
