There are basically three types of psyllium...seed, whole husk and powder. The whole husk and the powdered husk are both powders...the difference is how fine the powder is ground. Both of these are equally effective...the powder gels up faster than the whole husk so it is best to drink it down as quickly as possible...you have a little more time with the whole husk...but not much!
1 Tablespoon of whole husk psyllium = 1 teaspoon powdered husk psyllium...this is the dose per shake
Combine the appropriate amount of psyllium with 1 Tablespoon of liquid Bentonite in 8-10oz of water or diluted juice and follow this 'shake' with another 8-10oz water.
Avoid psyllium seed for a colon cleanse...it is not very effective. Some brands of fiber conbine different fibers or psyllium seed and husk...follow the directions for that particular product....but realize that you may not eliminate mucoid plaque as you do with the psyllium husks. The fiber is good...but it probably won't give you the same cleansing results.

This is a reply to # 150,905I always save the probiotics for after the cleanse...but it certainly wouldn't hurt. Give it a try and see how you respond. If you've completed a Colon Cleanse you can always continue taking fiber on a daily basis...one or two doses a day...and also take the probiotics daily.

This is a reply to # 150,907Thanks for clearing that up PTree. I use the powdered type but forgot that there are different forms marketed in my post earlier. I must say that in my browsing these forums for the last few months you do have a knack of clearing up confusion and having great information.

This is a reply to # 150,903I'm using a product that is powdered psyllium husks and seeds (Attogram). I've had the best response to this psyllium. When I used powdered husks my bowels slowed some and I had no elimination of plaque. When I used the powdered psyllium husk and seed product I found that the cleansing was the best and started to see some really good cleansing. I recently ran out of the powdered husk and seed product and tried the powdered husk product again because its cheaper and had the same slow down.

This is a reply to # 150,919I've also been using this same Attogram psyllium with similar results as yours n. Not sure about the use of powdered seed mixed in with the husk versus just powdered husk but I can see why one wouldn't want to use whole seeds. I'm in the if it works for you do it crowd.

The whole seed doesn't do much...ground might be a bit better...you could also reduce the amount of husk...say 1/2 teaspoon...and see if that works better. My guess is that the combination husk/seed is working well for you...not because of the seed, but because of less husks.
