Hi you fellow-flyers!!

I have always disagreed with what dream 'interpretation' books say about flying! It's way off the mark! Who flies to get away from something? Most everyone that I know that flies is flying out of pure joy!!

I fly fairly frequently and when I have those dreams I feel like it's a gift to me. I remember one night thinking: I haven't had a flying dream in a while...maybe I'd like to have one tonight (you can ask to have one!)...but then I thought: no, I probably wouldn't have one because I'm not feeling that joyful feeling inside. I felt kind of blah and draggy.

Well! Sure enough...I had a beautiful flying dream! Even though I thought I wasn't in the right space to have one. Dreams like that come, I think, to make you feel good. And it did!

I sometimes dance in the air while floating...and I feel the energy come out of the bottoms of my feet and elbows...it takes some control but, wow, it is the greatest feeling.

I've also flown out into space.

A part of me believes that some of these flying dreams are astral travel. (oooh the experiences!)

Well...I've rambled on!

Flying is sooooo good for our spirits!

Flying
Dreams of flying are common and most people can recall having flown in a dream or two. There are many ideas as to what this means.
Some people believe that flying in our dreams can be an actual out of body experience, that we go to places on this physical plane as
well as into the inner planes (mostly the Astral). Edgar Cayce thought that Astral travel or "soul travel" might be a precursor to
becoming lucid in a dream. Carl Jung's idea was that in a flying dream we are expressing our desire to break free of restrictions and
limitations. We have a desire to be free and above all difficulties!

FLYING
Flying in a dream is not too unusual but not everyone has these dreams. Our bodies cannot fly so flying represents the part of us that is not limited by the physical body - the mind. Flying by yourself in a dream indicates you have a strong mind (ie. are very rational / intellectual). This ability to 'project' your mind means you can develop hypnosis and absent healing among other things. These abilities work through projecting your mind onto another. The down side is that the person has to be careful to not be too much in the head all the time. You can miss a lot of opportunities in life if you always rationalize things and never follow you heart.

Flying with a guide in a dream is different though and it indicates that you have the ability to project your mind into the spirit world and communicate with spirits. A guide in these type of dreams usually appears as somebody who is an instructor on how to fly.

This 'rational/mind/head' thing makes a lot of sense to me. Astrologically it would mean that all of us Flyers have a very strong Mercury (mind/wings!). My chart supports this, too.

I woke up to another flying dream today. I went through a phase when I had the same flying dream over & over. I was flying in Tibet over gardens- flying like superman, zooming everywhere & loving the beautiful gardens below me. But I always had to stay behind trees & mountains so the big flying monster behind me would not catch me. It was great & scary at the same time. Honestly- I had this dream over & over for several years. I was nearing the end of a marriage & I think that was part of the message.

Today a new flying dream. I was exiting a shopping mall & see someone that is coming after me, So I fly upward & get on top of the parking garage nearby & land quickly & safely, Then, quickly, I am able to go to a different side of the building from my pursuer. I find my way down a side ladder & then I'm on the ground level of the parking garage and flee into the mall, & get lost into the crowd- safely, mixing in with all the mall shoppers. I was sort of frightened, but then I knew I would be safe from danger once I was inside the mall.

I feel like am a at a really good place in my life, but I am trying to move up the ladder in my career. Not sure, what it all means.

Open to any ideas if anyone wants to give me feedback.

When I was a child I would have dreams when I would fly. I didn't have to bend my knees or anything like that. I just knew I could and I would fly! Could feel myself going up and there I was flying. Wouldn't last long though. No crashes or anything, but it was so exhilarating I would wake up and then I would just be me again.
