I don't know how this will be received... but a couple of weeks ago I started to paint my forehead and sides of the temples with Povodine. Did this after using Lugols 5% on a skin abberation on my wrist. A month later after consistently using a drop on this site, it had created a crust, fallen off, and new pink skin replaced it. I kept painting the small amount of real estate with 5% and it healed over nicely and one can hardly tell there was ever a skin thing there at all.
So thought I'd give Povodine a go given its gentler composition. Started to notice a diminishing of age spots within a week. I began to apply Povodine and Jojoba oil, having used Jojoba oil for years anyway. Three weeks later and I am overjoyed. Age spots that have been with me for approx 8-10 years are almost gone. And they are disappearing in a smooth, measured and timely way. Skin appears quite healthy. I do not feel as if this is too harsh or causing undue impact. The process feels appropriate, and the Jojoba appears to enhance the efficacy of the Povodine on this facial skin. It is producing a subtle peeling affect tho it is very, very subtle. Not as drastic as some other peels or similar things that I've tried in the past. Everything feels and appears all around much healthier, to where people are noticing.
Iodine is the absolute greatest thing ever. Next to everything else that are also my favorite things. I've been experimenting with simple combinations of iodine and oils (thanks Wombat) and things have just been terrific. All this while maintaining internal use, between 50 and 100mg a day. My wife and I are advocates fer sure....
Howdie...
What I do is paint Povodine directly onto my face. I use the the ring finger, the weakest finger (learned in theatre makeup), and massage it in. I then put a drop of Jojoba on my finger and continue to massage it in. So there is not a real measurement. Just a 1st and 2nd coat. Using just enough Jojoba to coat, but not too much that my face turns into a slippery slope.
Povodine was working as is, but found that lightly massaging in Jojoba seems to have accelerated the process, and maintaining moisture too. Pretty cool. My wife noticed so I didn't have to promote the idea. She just has said "I want to do what you are doing..." Pretty cool.
Thought to return and add a little more info on the Povodine Painting and jojoba oil progress.
It in a word goes very well. I am very happy with the ongoing results. It has really corrected some skin anomolies in addition to the age spots, like tiny but evolving skin tags and abberations. Nothing more than painting and then using a little jojoba to add some emulsion character to it.
One thing I have noted is to do this a little earlier than before heading to bed. I find if I do it right at bedtime, it keeps me awake. Am guessing it is the little surge of iodine perhaps??? But I find myself awake. Painting a hour or two earlier gives me that appealing orange-y look, not, but I get to sleep.
Main thing is I have not experienced anything adverse, like it being too harsh on the skin. If anything, it has promoted a suppleness that I'd already had, but now moreso.
I just read about using collidal silver to get after age spots too, so will give that a go. But I am really happy with the progress of this in terms of creating a rejuvenation of the skin. I ingest a lot of olive oil and that has helped keep my skin looking much younger than it is, but still, the abberations that form with age are being dealt with via this simple act of painting, jojoba, and sleep.
