Hi, yw! :)
I am not sure of the best thing to do in place of a root canal. I have heard of bridge or implant options with biocompatible materials (e.g. implant made with zirconium)... But I am not up enough on these things to be able to recommend what would be best. If you could find a biologic dentist that either does not do
root canals OR has the best possible up-to-date procedure if he "does" do them, perhaps he/she would be in a much better position to advise what to do in this case.
You can find biologic dentists online and try emailing a few of them and see what they say. I am sure some will probably say that there is a way of doing
root canals that is far better than procedures in the past, but frankly I am not sure whether it is truly possible to eradicate the risks...
But you could at least ask what the best possible replacement would be if someone had their
root canal tooth removed. I wish I knew! There is always the risk that I will oneday end up in the same position as so many people are and I think I would be emailing many bio dentists online and doing a lot of searching on the net about it.
