The Two Realities
Beyond Desire

'Conceptual' reality is a luxury reserved for those who have
been blessed with good health and a genetic predisposition
that is conducive to happiness.
With 'conceptual' reality, we can play and assume that all sorts of
magnificent powers are at our disposal;
'we create our reality,' 'we can manifest abundant health and wealth
for ourselves.'
These are the phrases of those who invest in the 'new-age' guru's
teachings.
In 'Ultimate' reality, concepts are meaningless. Ideas and attempts
to control the outcome of our lives' are not a consideration.
Certainly, we do shape our lives to some degree.
If we desire to be successful at business, we must strive, work and employ
principles of disipline with consistency.
If we wish to achieve and maintain a reasonable state of health,
we must eat properly, exercise regularly and get ample rest.
Regardless of our efforts, will and desires, in time we will
be subject to the fact of 'wear and tear'- our bodies, and sometimes our minds,
will reach a state of exhaustion and deterioration will become our experience.
Or, illness will strike, unexpectedly, and we will be forced to follow a strict regimen of treatment to slow down the inevitable processes that lead to our demise.
This is 'Ultimate' reality for all of us, eventually.
Still, that does not mean that we should give in to despair. In fact, it means that we should strive, above all other concerns, to live our lives well, in happiness and with generosity to all, for we are all in the same boat, on the same ocean, bound for the same shore.
May your days be spent in joyous communion with your loved ones and your
nights be enjoyed as the glory you would share with all, were you
a monarch and sage.
