So I recently discovered that I was pre-diabetic with a blood Sugar reading of 130 before breakfast. In a panic, I did many hours of research to find out what I could do about diabetes without drugs. Here are my findings:

Nearly half of the people in the United States are either pre-diabetic or have Type 2 diabetes… while even 25% more have been suffering with insulin resistance for years! A total tragedy caused by eating too many high carb foods. The food pyramid is actually upside down!

Men with diabetes are three times more likely to report having Erectile Dysfunction because of nerve & blood vessel damage…..

Long before our blood Sugar goes out of control, our insulin level rises to send excessive sugars into our cells. Rising insulin makes us hungry and we eat more. Also causes high cholesterol. We eat more and insulin rises higher, now storing fat and making us even hungrier. This vicious circle has started, and we are trapped into escalating obesity, diabetes, heart disease & worse. Years later, our cells become resistant to the vast amounts of insulin required to control all of that food, and carbs. The result is rising blood sugars, fatty liver, fatty kidneys and even fatty pancreas that causes insulin production to fall.

We join the epidemic of diabetes cases - then doctors make diabetes worse with their drugs & insulin shots and with totally wrong nutritional recommendations. The Food Pyramid is upside down, making us all sickly!

The links are clear cut. Diabetes causes high cholesterol, heart disease & then heart disease causes clogged arteries, high blood Sugar and a Pandoras Box of related diseases. Even worse, we can suffer gangrene in the feet & legs resulting in amputations. Even blindness & death.

We have all heard of diabetes, but what do we do about it? Why do people get diabetes? What should we do to prevent & cure it?

The answers are easy & clear cut. We eat too much, and we get obese. Large belly? Overweight? Excessive junk food consumption with high carbs are creating a nationwide obesity epidemic that leads directly to a diabetes epidemic, even children are suffering obesity & diabetes!!!

I have just started my Ketogenic Diet. Amazon.Com has Ketogenic Urine Test Strips to help us monitot our diet. Then I just found out that my wife is also pre-diabetic so we are both on this new diet.

I will report back when I am no longer pre-diabetic, and my blood sugar tests normal.
