Re: Hashimotos thyroiditis confusion
Wondering how you are 3 years later, Maelynn.
I related to a lot of what you mentioned.
I ate SAD with a bad
Sugar addiction for a long time then In 2010 I worked on health recovery with green juices and Vegetarian / Vegan diets. Was vegetarian 6 months and vegan 2 months then back to vegetarian for about 6 more months then onto Paleo which I have been on for the last 3 years.
Found I was better giving up bread and most grains and dairy and then nightshade foods. I love Dr Schulze and his teaching is GREAT but his most of his herbal products contain nightshade peppers which were counter productive for me. I ended up with an ulcer taking his products and especially his Cayenne tincture along with Premier Research Labs HCL and HCL Activator. I was negative for H. Pylori but Prilosec OTC helped immediately and I was on that for about 3 months. Wanting to get off Prilosec I went gluten free, took *supplements including L-Glutamine, Aloe Vera Juice, Mucosa Max, DGL, Gelatin, Pine Nut Oil, Seabuckthorn juice and Slippery Elm Lozenges to help repair mucosal lining, plus Egoscue Bodywork and Myofascial massage bodywork to help my pain.
Food wise tried some Bone Broth and raw Cabbage Juice. In 2014 I cut out Bone Broth due to High Histamine due to it being a high FODMAP which we think might have been a factor for my 2014 GI pain. And also avoiding raw cruciferous veggies now due to them possibly hindering thyroid function. The 2014 GI pain resolved by answered prayer leading me to 20+ helps--some of the top helps were dental work on #13 and #31 teeth, Oxytocin from neighbor dogs (my little dog had died early 2014), DO Doctor unblocking my sinuses and adjusting my ileocecal valve), short supplementation of Lith-Oro, BioTech's Lithium 5 mg supplement and a change from WP Thyroid back to Nature Throid dessicated thyroid brands.
I believe that many if not all my many health concerns are related to my hypothyroidism and possible leaky gut resulting in sensitivities to food, medicine and supplements
I know I feel better off gluten, nightshades, caffeine, excess carbs and refined sugars
And I strongly believe that
Histamine Intolerance is a factor.
I am unsure about a possible Fructose Malabsorption,FODMAP Sensitivity or how high acid foods might bother me.
I've tried 100's of supplements-- 98% of them do not agree with me. Maybe the fillers of cellulose, gelatin magnesium and vegetable stearates not agreeing with my
Histamine Intolerance . If I stay off High Histamine Foods and also eat low FODMAP I get better. But when I fall off that regime I go back to eating too many fruits (esp oranges, avocado and banana), nuts and seeds. I gravitate back to Foods too high in carbs, high acid, sugar, high in Phytic Acid, FODMAPS, Tyrosine (may not be so good for my hypothyroidism) and histamine. Oh and I love butter and salt too. I think if I eat Whole 30 low Histamine/ autoimmune diet I'd be feeling a whole lot better but it is so very restrictive. Got to shake off the entertainment factor in food and do more exercise and grounding/earthing and juicing.
I've since done metabolic counseling and 23 and Me gene testing, Genova/ Metametrix GI Effect testing (working to get my GI Effects test intelligently interpreted)-- GI balance is so so very important. That and Brain health! All helpful bits of info.
Our health is like a giant puzzle that is very hard to piece together.
Of late I am leaning toward God and Food, exercise and sleep for healing.
My spiritual life of Grace Faith Alone in The Lord Jesus Christ Alone has been the glue that holds me together. I cannot walk in my emotions but in humility by faith in God in Christ based on promises in the Bible the Word of God.
I am fearfully and Wonderfully made my body is working 24/7 to correct dysbiosis, insulin resistance, Hypothyroidism, Inflammation,
food sensitivities to gluten, nightshade foods (tomato, potato, eggplant, peppers and paprika. caffeine, histamine and Fructose/Fodmap intolerance's.
Praying you are better or will be so soon!
