I also was a heavy child and have been struggling with my weight and the associated baggage for years. It's hard. I lost 52 pounds when I was in 6th grade...and it's been a rollercoaster ride ever since. I have all the weight loss books, been to several programs... A big part of my life and energy has been spent on trying to tame the food issue. So I feel where you are coming from.
