Organic sunflower lecithin is the best
by Penn 7 y
”Organic sunflower lecithin is the best in supplement form.
Or, just eating lots of quality eggs.”
https://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/lecithin/
Do you know if you or anybody else you recommended soy lecithin to, has a soy allergy?
Did you ask, or even mention this?
Why do you recommend specifically soy?
There’s LOTS of info online on warnings about soy products and why BP and industry likes it.

Re: Bragg liquid aminos
by xZapx 16 y
It is similar to the cheaper soy sauces - it consists mainly of Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, which is a way of saying you naturally created MSG - but at a lower level than the chemically created isolate substance. Is it safe this way, that is a good question...
It also has a lot of salt, like a regular soy sauce. I suppose you could substitute a naturally fermented or naturally brewed soy sauce with similar effect. These use the whole soybean instead of just the protein.

Re: The Dangers of Soy again!
by origen 15 y
Even if all of these claims about soy are true (which Hv has time and again shown to be incorrect statements), why would soybean oil and soy lechithin be a problem? These are fats and the "bad stuff" is soy is water soluble, so how would they be present in these products?
Anyways, Hv has shown most if not all of these statements to be pretty much false. Just search the forum for soy, phytoestrogens, etc.
Thanks

i’ve been taking DIM for a few days and i believe its working so far.. What hurts my peace of mind however is the fact that it contains Phosphatidylcholine from soy! Also it contains d-alpha tocopheryl succinate which is possibly from soy also. We’ve all learned by now that soy is bad for us, but should i be concerned about these ingredients? Soy, as with other food hypes, are best left with people who know how to use it best. If you walk into an Asian grocery store, you will not see such things as soy protein powder drinks or soy bars. Even the soybean drink is different than the soy milk sold in American stores. Once something becomes a hype, people will create things out of it to rake in the doe since the marketing is practically free.

Although soy foods and soy milk is advertised as a health food-and at one time I believed it too. It’s not that clear. Soy has a mild estrigenic effect, not good for male cancers--or female for that matter. The Chinese did not use soy as a staple of their diet until they perfected the process of fermentation, Fermented Sot such as Miso and tempeh are OK.

If you google soy milk, there are a ton of positive websites...and if you search soy milk in the search box at the top of this page, there are some very negative views that seem to directly contradict.

It’s not so much about ”Soy bashing” as that is just your extreme end of the spectrum derrogatory view.
The biggest issue is not so much Soy itself done in moderation it’s the issue that its being sneaked on us in a huge amount of procesed food items because it’s a cheap filler and not for any health avantage reasons. This ”processed soy” has little resemblance to soy and in many cases is heavily chemicalized and processed. Don’t take my word for it start reading labels at the grocery.

1. Caustic Chemicals: Soy protein isolate is the primary ingredient in soy formulas. And - unless it’s organic - it’s treated with hexane, a caustic chemical.
2. Exposure to Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs): Almost all soy is genetically modified. But even if you choose organic soy-based formulas (like Earth’s Best), reasons 3 through 8 below are still health concerns.

Besides Mercola there are many highly qualified peole who warn against the dangers of soy! Besides, soy is the favorite child of the monoculturist of agribusiness like Monsanto who spews thousand of tons of pollution into our air ,land and water , so supporting soy is supporting those who feel the need to rape the land for profit!
