He has two versions, and both formulas are different from Lugol’s. His SSKI is solely potassium iodide, and his SSKI 2% is potassium iodide with some molecular iodine added. With both versions you will get much more potassium iodide per drop than with Lugol’s, and with the 2% you’ll get half as much molecular iodine as from Lugol’s 2%. He adds magnets to the SSKI 2% to make it more active in the body. It all comes down to which product(s) work for you, and figuring that out can be a lot of trial and error.

Its nearly impossible to dissolve 1:1 unless you cook it.
That said you can disolve 1:1.02 with aggitation then you will have 1g per 1ml minus a miniscule amount.
In Pharma trade the packages are sold with instructions. They also sometimes contain one or two grains of saffron to color the tincture and make it easier to portion out.
Instructions are to dissolve each gram in 1.05 ml then cook to evaporate that amount to get the correct solution.
For home use why not just dissolve 125 gram of KI in 132 ml of water. It will dissolve correctly and give you 0.95 gram per ml instead of ...

from a practical point of view the thing to do is start with 150-300mg of KI. if your potassium transport system isnt messed up then the body will go back and forth with iodine and iodide.
i think dr brownstein was primarily dealing with FBD. these cysts are made up in part by potassium left behind from the thyroid or breats or overaies other iodine hog scavenging the iodine and leaving a potassium deposit. clearly at this level of dysbiology the body could use some free iodine to take up the slack.

I have a lot of magnets Trapper, being the computer nerd that I am, I make use of dead computers and hard drives.
Your formula is great, my Partner is up and about, going surfing today in fact, because he has recovered so quickly from the flu. What was in the past, a sometimes week or two illness, is now 2 or 3 days. Once he becomes fully iodinated it should not be a problem at all, as he simply will no longer get sick :)
Your formula rocks, and the more people that learn how to make their own iodine solution, the less we will have to worry about the vagaries of the government.

One additional request of you would be to put half the tincture into one of your magnetic bottles. Wouldn’t that be a kick if that made a big difference!
I don’t have much to go on other than speculation as I have no nascent iodine or have I ever tried it before. I did go to the liquor store a while ago and got some Ever-Clear and made a 1.5% tincture. I wish I hadn’t taken my magnet bottle apart now.
I’m on my way to 24fitness to do 30 minutes of sauna. I will try my tincture on an empty stomach when I return.

I have done a similar test using Everclear and plain water.
I made a puddle of each close to each other.
Once they touch the alcohol immediately sucks itself into the water almost as if it were alive with vigorous ripples moving through the mixture. If I wasn’t aware of the strong hydro-scopic properties of alcohol I would say it looked magnetic the way the two liquids interchanged with each other. There’s no magic here and as Vulcanel once said, ”there is nothing new under the sun”.
It’s not the magic magnet Edgar Cayce bath, it’s just the alcohol plain and simple.

I can buy eggs for a dollar a dozen. When I go to Denney’s it normally costs me just under 10 bucks to have just two eggs cooked the way I like them. Looking back I’m sure I’ve actually purchased more eggs from restaurants than I have from grocery stores and I see nothing changing that.
SSKI is heavy for a reason as it is more chemical than water.
I have chemical but I don’t have the bottle, the magnets, the dropper or the inclination to assemble when it is readily available at a fair price with FREE ADVICE. This is maybe the reason I just last week received another perfect sealed ...

I am curious what your ”thyroid sickness” looked like symptom-wise....for my information, I am awlays interested in learning.
remember that Iodine can stir up heavy metals too.
It will also drive your Tsh really high for awhile often. I got really cold body temp for a period of time a couple of months in.....i freaked out thinking my thyroid shut off. But when I stopped taking it things got better in a day or day and now that isn’t an issue

Iosol is 1830 mcg per drop, or 1.8 mg. To get to 50 mg, you’d need 28 drops.
It’s easier to get too much iodine than it is iodide. Trapper has recounted how he got up to 300 mg Lugol’s, and was having difficulty with it until he applied magnets, which is believed to loosen the iodine I 2 bond and make it easier to metabolize. I can handle 150 mg Iodoral -- in fact, I don’t sleep well unless I use this amount -- but any additional amount has to come from potassium iodide (SSKI drops).

Sodium Ascorbate is not Ascorbic Acid, this could be your problem. Time release isn’t what you want when you try to push halogens from receptors...
Also the main Se in Brazil Nuts is one step to far for binding to any metals and some toxins. Selenomethionine and one Brazil Nut may be better.
Sometimes there are just too many minerals in Real Salt, best if you have white Sea Salt as an option. I used to teeter between the two for one reason or another.

SSKI can be charged multiples negative via small amounts of indirect current.
Here is how:
- small enamel bake-ware dish, can be bought anywhere for a couple of bucks
- use a pair of pliers to crack the enamel on opposite sides under the lip to expose bare metal
- one 9v and two alligator clipped cables, all at Radio Shack for a couple of bucks
- connect the cables to each of the bare metal sides of your enamel bake-ware dish
- connect the other ends to the 9v battery
- add some water 80% of dish height and add your bottles of SSKI to it

I’ve been using Lugol’s for about three months. Along with the Vitamins and Supplements I used already (which included Calcium/Magnesium), I added Selenium and upped my Vitamin C dosage when I started with Iodine.
The only side effect I had was being REALLY tired the first couple of weeks. For several days in a row I took ten drops three times a day with no other side effects.
Right now I’m taking 8-10 drops a day in a OO gelcap in the morning on an empty stomach and using the salve I made using Wombat’s recipe.

I found this old post when you were taking 2.5 dropperfuls:
Each drop is about 2.4mg. I’ve found that each dropper full is about 15 drops (36mg) 2.5 dropper fulls would be 90 mg. 3 dropper fulls would be 108 mg. 4 dropper fulls would be 144 mg.

Getting a little worried here. Does the SSKI has a taste? Why are people putting it into vegicaps? Why are people raving about the magnets making it easier to take? My son that has low T3 would never agree to take anything that is difficult. I have a horrible time getting him to take chewable vitamins that my other kids gobble up like candies. I just bought some liquid kelp today, to get started with something. It is totally tasteless -- like water. I dropped 2 drops on everyone’s tongues and not a single complaint.

yes, lugols is irritating to the throat and stomach. thats the reason for the development of iodoral.
you can get some vegcaps and put the liquid in there and take it with water. another thing that will help is putting magnets on the bottle like i am doing with SSKI 2%. they cut the irritation down by about half.
to get 100mg of iodine per day using lugols is not the best choice. the ratio of KI to I2 needs to be greater. lugols delivers an unnecessary amount of I2 per mg of total iodine. the exception may be the aggressive treatment of FBD. however, the amount of I2 in 50mg o ...

thank you all for your vote of confidence regarding other cheaper sources of SSKI. i certainly wont refuse to sell it.
the good news is that i still have plenty of SSKI2%(thanks to a forgotten stash of I2 that was buried in my bedroom closet). and yes, i still have the magnets i am attaching to the bottles. there is no finer all-in-one iodine supplement available anywhere at any price. just ask anyone who has tried it. :)

eat raw. that will help you more than anything.
put a little iodine in your diet. a drop of SSKI is about what the japanese get every day in their diets. go along with that for a while and then go to two drops. hopefully you will be losing weight along the way.
if you want to address your pcos, get the SSKI2$ and do one drop in water only in the morning.
you could get the combo special of one ounce of each and do both. you can handle the detox with these products much better than with lugols. you get magnets, too, which really help.

well, a liter is almost 34oz so youre going to be making a higher concentrate than lugols, but not by much. if you add anything add the 12 grams of KI. that will help your dissolving problem. 5% I2 is too high. its just plain too much in a 100mg dose, which is the minimum i recommend. i dont know for sure what the exact perfect ratio is but i suspect its about a half gram per ml and a 2% I2 solution. the SSKI 2% i make is fine for guys and post menopausal women, but premenopausal women should have at least 8 drops of lugols(magnets really help) and about another 8 drops of SSKI durin ...

I took one gram (35 drops) of SSKI 2% with magnets yesterday and woke up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat, weakly sick with diarrhea but I feel fine this morning. I’ve never taken this much before but the healing crisis was always prolonged over days feeling generally weak but not severe. I am now a believer in Trapper’s recommendation to hit it hard and not pussy foot around with mild doses. i certainly hope so. i have been at this for a long time and the SSKI2% with magnets is right up there with the magnascent/SSKI combo. i give the edge to the magnascent.
now that i have found out what works best and have a good idea of why, there is no question as to the most effective supplements - high dosage for detox and magnetized elemental for resupply of iodine. i believe this is the biggest drawback of iodoral. it is not a liquid and cant be magnetized.
three years of work distilled down into two paragraphs. and anyone can do it in any number of ways.

100mg is the minimum in my book.
it took me a long time to get warm. i used hot baths, hot cold therapy(hot shower then finish with as cold as you can stand and air dry afterwards), cold sitz baths to move the lymph, coconut oil, exercise, alex chius magnet rings(worth a whole point of temp Fahrenheit), cleansing and flushing, massage, and other things if i could think of them all.

I had been adding the Lugol’s to ACV but read here that would reduce it to KI - already doing SSKI don’t need more, really need the I2. So did 50 drops of Lugol’s in a lil water & it was fine. Before I typed that above, I did 50 drops ”raw” in a lil water & yes I can tell there is a huge difference.
Is there a minimum time limit to be magnetized? These magnets are too big to keep attached to the bottle (plus I don’t want them any where near my electronics). I left it there for a couple of month on a 2oz bottle, but I’ve decided to do high doses of the 2% Lugol’s since I bought a g ...

doing big doses of cayenne pepper will help, but it takes determination and a high HU pepper, like over 150,000.
another thing i have found to do to increase body temp is the alex chiu magnet rings. you can measure the difference. i got a full degree out of them when i first used them. i know, hes crazy, but who isnt? the fact it i tried them and they worked to bring my temp up and blood pressure down. i could feel and measure the difference.
he also might benefit from a good old fashioned B12 shot. as pro-medico as that sounds, it works, too. i like things that work.

I am currently on 15 drops Lugol’s (ran out of Trapper’s SSKI) plus companions - but I have kept the magnets on the bottle. All I know is that I feel good. This morning’s exchange has prompted me to decide to increase my dose. I still get a crusty nose every so often, even after all this time (nose is wet and whatever it is that is running out dries up to a whitish crust)- my skin problems haven’t resolved completely, but I am healthy and have a better outlo ...

most drug store tinctures are not ethanol but some other poisonous alcohol. this might not matter for painting. what makes magnascent so special is its charged with electromagnetism. you might try using permanent magnets on the tincture before using it and see. that stuff is usually 2%. magnascent comes in 1% and 2%. magnascent filled a hole in my sons leg from a biking accident. just amazing.

taking that much ELEMENTAL iodine, you may be suffering some oxidative stress. most of your total iodine intake should be from iodide, especially when taking over 300mg.
are you taking enough selenium?
the bottom line is to trust what your body is telling you. i had to put magnets on my lugols bottle to get above 300mg. even then, 600mg was the upper limit.
another thing is potassium. you could be mobilizing a lot of potassium. have you checked your blood pressure? are you taking enough salt? hydrated?

I started when the forum was new and everyone was still experimenting and there was not much information available yet.
For 7 months I built up to 100-120 mg. After that I took a month off and then went back to about 6 drops (36mg) a day.
Now I upped it again (for my gallstone) to about 150 mg a day.
One or 2 years ago I bought a bottle with magnets from Trapper and I keep filling it with Lugols.
Several years ago I bought several big bottles with 5% Lugols before they took it off the market.

Hey mate,
I have taken 600mg Lugol’s for a while, 2months actually, with magnets on either side of the bottom(Trapper style). I am actually off Lugols ’Iodine/Iodide’ now and taking SSKI IODIDE as its better for my Adrenal Fatigue. Taking a gram a day(1,000mg) which equals 33 drops for me.
So i was taking 48 drops X2 morning / night of 5% Lugols. Your safe.

You’re taking 18 drops 3x a day, so that’s 54 drops, each 2.5 mg. Daily total = 135 mg. Trapper’s recounted how he had trouble taking 300 mg Lugol’s before he used magnets, then could do 600 mg. You might consider topping out at about 150 mg Lugol’s (60 drops 2%), then add SSKI to increase your iodine if you want more. I had some trouble with Iodoral 150 mg (Lugol’s in a tablet), but when it partnered with SSKI, I felt much better. SSKI is much easier to take high doses of than Lugol’s is.

there is something about the elemental iodine in iodoral that is escaping me. like i said, we pondered this before. it helps FBD but it seems to bypass the thyroid. maybe where it is absorbed, the ovaries and uterus are big hogs for iodine. is it absorption or is it being reduced to iodide? i just dont know. i do know i would take what works!
one thing that comes to mind is lack of oxygen. ever supplemented H2O2?

I2 is NOT found in nature. it is necessary to combat the halogen imbalance created by man. it is necessary to correct cycsts in breasts, ovaries, prostate and colon, etc. in other words, I2 is therapeutic only. KI is just a dietary supplement and can be taken in massive quantities according to the nutritional needs.
i spot check from time to time using an elemental(lugols, sski 2% - any water based mix of KI and I2). i went a very long time without doing that and did get a boost from taking SSKI 2%. 2% of 390mg is about 8mg of I2(magnets on the bottle, of course). you must take i ...

I have been considering ordering some more of trapper’s lugol’s or his 2% w/ki and magnets. The lugol’s seemed to make me wired and kept me up all night when I was taking it. Is this because it is a more powerful antifungal and I was experiencing dieoff? Or would the 2% w/ ki be more powerful at the same dosage?
I have been fighting some sort of neurological infection the past several years and everything I have tried has failed. I think it is lyme and possibly a fungal infection.

It seems that it keeps me in check. I presume it is helping to clear out any toxins swiftly and keep my vital processes in better check.

What is the best way to store iodine and Vit C powder?
I buy 500ml of lugols in a brown glass bottle. This is a 500 day supply for me. I transfer this into a smaller 15ml brown glass dropper bottle with magnets. I have noticed the iodine has rotted the rubber on the dropper so the bottle is not air tight as it could be.
The Vit c is in a large plastic container. 1kg worth which gives me roughly 100 days supply.
Can the longevity of either be damaged or extended?

a book could be written on the iodine content of all these different mixes.
why not buy lugols from someone who actually sells real lugols?
another way is to get an oral syringe and count how many drops are in an ML. divide the number of drops into the amount of iodine in an ML. that way you know exactly what is in each drop the way you make the drops(your dropper, holding it vertical or horizontal, etc).
regular lugols is 6.25mg per drop, but that can vary a lot. it really varies when magnets are on the bottle.
