Wow, ciscokid, Miss Helfinger is right! You deserve BIG hugs :) My hubby is a lot like you and Miss H’s. Sweet man, knew I was sick, but married me anyway over 7 years ago! I say the same thing on my bad days, ”why didn’t you marry someone healthy who could do more and give you more kids than I can?” and he always smiles and says b/c he loves ME. I just don’t get it, I feel I don’t deserve him. I’m blessed, and so is Ciscokid’s wife and Miss H’s hubby and anyone else who has a loving, supportive and caring partner in this life!

Iodine kills H. Pylori

DRUG RESISTANCE: Strains have been found to show resistance to antibodies such as clarithromycin, erythromycin, ofloxacin, and metronidazole, and show low levels of resistance to tetracycline, amoxicillin, fluoroquinolones, and rifabutin
SUSCEPTIBILITY TO DISINFECTANTS: Readily inactivated by free chlorine, iodine treatments can inhibit its vacuolation toxin activity ( 22) , thus practices used for treating drinking water, apart from ozonolysis, should be sufficient for disinfecting H. p ...

perhaps it should be considered that it is not working for him, since the situation has worsened.
Now he has Esophageal ulcers. and perhaps it is the zantac that has led to this... seems to me that getting off the drug(s) and treating it another way would change this.

Re: Can Lugols cause stomach pain and nausea?

If a Lugol’s solution can erode the lining of the stomach/esophagus in large enough concentrations, then this might expose any underlying h. pylori infection to the iodine, which would (or should) then kill it.
That seems like a plausible theory, but then there is the question of how far this has to go before it starts working against you. It’s sort of a race to see whether you can kill off the infection before the other poisonous consequences of eroding the mucosal lining manifest, like cancer.
But this is not really the best way to deal with h. pylori.

I built up to taking over 100 milligrams of Elemental Iodine 4 or 5 times a day. It destroyed the Pylori and cured my bleeding ulcers.
I was taking about 500 mg’s of Iodine a day but I suspect 2 to 300 mg’s a day might be enough.

I want to try and wipe this out with iodine.
What is the upper limit to consumption with lugol’s? How many hundreds of mg of iodine can I safely take to try and kill it?

magnesium and/or potassium ascorbate would be good choices to try, you just need to make sure that you dont get too much potassium or magnesium though. The main thing is that at vit C doses high enough to have a profound affect on heart disease using a calcium bound product will cause problems over time due to too much calcium intake.

possibilities are here, although I would bet that h pylori is not a factor in Japan as iodine protects against h pylori. Probably due to the nitrate exposure. Of course I always stand to be corrected, and I’m correcting myself as we speak(type). Genespleen suggested bracken consumption in a post above and I have seen that referenced as a causative factor. One thing’s for sure, whatever they’re doing ”wrong” is negating the protective effects of iodine in the gastric mucosa.

THE CAUSE: nutritional deficiencies due to a poorly chosen diet. [i.e. the typical Western diet is a poorly chosen one.]
This sets up an enviornment for the bug to set up shop. as they dig in, they produce more acid in stomach, creating sores in the walls where they nest. The situation spirals downward as this also affects the ability for stomach and upper intestine to adsorb nutrients. anti-acids are a short term remedy as the h.pylori usually adjust and become resistant.

If I take up to 7 drops per day then I am okay but anything over that amount I have cramps. If you have not done it already, I would look into putting the magnets on my bottle per Trappers advice.
