Speaking of prayer I tought I’d post this about prayer. Not saying I do it all the time. For those who say I posted this in the wrong forum, prayer is another proof of God. great prayer for this individual: I also need help and prayer. my car was rear ended by a south amboy taxi cab in new jersey. Are you a Christian? If so you might find this book very helpful. There are specific prayers for the children, unhealthy relationships, etc and breaking habits, demonic strongholds, etc. All the prayers are based strictly upon scripture and are very effective. This is a battle that needs to be fought on a number of levels, I believe. It also says to send ’energy prayers’ and ’focus’ God’s love to the planet and animals. Where in the Bible does it say to pray for the planet? For the animals? It doesn’t. Since God only hears the prayers of His saints, all the people who are going to pray, meditate, send ’energy’ prayers, think good thoughts or whatever they plan to do, is falling on deaf ears and making the demons laugh. Look at it this way: Positive mental attitude and removal of stress have been proven time and again to aid healing. If people of faith find those things through prayer, then it can be a powerful benefit. I just completed a 10 day modified Master Cleanse hoping to reap some spiritual benefits and get closer to Yahweh, but I was not as satisfied spiritually with this type of fasting as I had hoped. I know that we, as Christians, can pray and believe God for answers ourselves. Yet, it can be benificial to have others agreeing in prayer, as well. Especially, giants in the faith. Pastor D.G.S. I’ve often thought about how the sinner’s prayer is dangerous because that is what people put their trust in, the fact that on some certain date, they prayed that prayer, or they walked down the aisle and said they believed. So it is trusting in something they did. And later they may have no faith at all to speak of, but those around them will still think they are saved because they remember the day they said the sinner’s prayer. If an unbeliever prays for us and does not direct the prayer in the name of Jesus...is the prayer lost in the universe, or does satan or one of his evil ones listen in and get involved? Those are indeed good questions. I have asked them myself. I personally believe both can be in order. Fasting in silence and with a group. Same goes for prayer. Though fasting around family is a tougher one to do especially if it is to be an extended fast. And though you may have to explain why you are not eating, you just don’t make a huge deal over it, which would draw attention to the fact, but only to the immediate need to know folks like family at home. Well the two times I remember Jesus ”praying” in front of others is that prayer, which wasn’t really a prayer, but an example for the disciples to learn from, and when Jesus raised Lazarus from the grave, which wasn’t really a prayer either, but was said to show people God had sent Jesus. (Another example showing Jesus wasn’t God, which I know you believe trapper) I know Jesus blessed the bread before he broke it to feed thousands, which I think was a form of prayer, and he did twice. Dear Anonymous I am so glad you have posted here. Deep prayers are needed in order to establish contact with God. But it does not mean he is not present with us all the time. What happens is that our sensitivty is so reduced we cannot feel HIS presence and love.
