Actually, swallowing tiny pieces of mercury during or immediately after the procedure is almost inavoidable, as you can’t completely block off the transit of fluid, however small, down your throat during a procedure of this length. They’re obviously not pieces you can see, but small particles that are carried by the saliva. Until these particles of mercury are eliminated from the body in a few days, you should not take oral chelation agents of any kind. Beyond that, DMSA is possibly the best broad-spectrum chelator. If your blood sugar issues are diabetes, then you should address that immediately in regards to your kidneys. Safest route is exercise, as taking large amounts of chromium or vanadium and some of the other blood sugar regulators can be harsh on the kidneys. Salt can be harsh on the kidneys, and I would limit it. If you think you might have stones, then look into chanca piedra. As far as diuretics, the best that I have tried is corn silk tea. I don’t know, and was wondering that myself. I think what may happen is that you jostle a stone loose, and it might precipitate a blockage, so it may actually be more of a risk in those circumstances. Unless you just want to get the stone out, and are willing to accept that possibility. I did it for awhile without a blockage, and my results came back from x-ray that I don’t have any stones. There are a ton of them. Horsetail, couch grass (also called dog grass), corn silk, goldenrod, clubmoss, and cleavers. I’m still not certain if these type of cleanses are a good idea. I would be careful with them if your kidneys are weak. Corn silk by itself is something you might want to consider, as it is demulcent and seems to be a little gentler. All I’m taking for the kidneys at the moment is chanca piedra, renafood, and cranberry juice. And drinking plenty of water.   [End]

This is a good post, thanks. By tyroid you must mean parathyroid. This has no relation to the thyroid gland. The parathyroid glands regulate calcium, and hyperparathyroidism can be a cause of stones. I would stop taking the tea. The diuretics may be too much for him. I know Shelley, who has or has had some issues with her own kidneys, doesn’t recommend strong herbal cleanses: http://www.askshelley.com/faq.php?p=default&cat=44 When I tried it, it gave me a strong headache, although that may have been an allergic reaction to one of the herbs. Actually, I’ve tried the Moritz tea, but I got quite a headache from one of the ingredients, so I stopped. As I recall from his books, Andreas never broke down which herb was reputed to help a given type of stone, and since I have found little to no information from other sources regarding the same, I suspect it may have been conjecture either by him or whatever source he may have had for the tea formula.
