Be very careful with the Atkins diet. I went on it 4 years ago and lost 28 pounds in 2 months. Not only did I lose weight, but I felt better--no allergies, increase energy, lowered cholesterol and triglicerides, no insomnia, etc. When I went off the diet, it didn’t take me long to gain all the weight back.
