Well since posting the original message the abscess has been back and each time I have used the calamine lotion mixture I mentioned earlier and the abscess spontaneously drained. I will leave it to you to decide if this is just coincidence or if the mixture really does work. Whichever, the relief provided by applying a poultice of the mixture is wonderful. I personally have chosen not to go under the knife... I can cope with the abscess coming back, being uncomfortable and them bursting before it gets large enough to cause signficant pain. Hi all. After posting a thread here yesterday pleading for help with recurring bartholin’s cyst/abscess which has flared up for the third time in ten months, I had a lucky find whilst searching for alternative remedies on the internet. Try this if you have a bartholin’s gland cyst or abscess. It worked for me today, and several times for the woman who posted it on another forum: Mix 1 fl oz calamine lotion with 1 teaspoon each of tea tree oil and witch hazel. Thanks for your reply glaxony :) I’m from the UK and they don’t use the catheter method here, but the marsupialisation method, after that excision. I am going to cancel my operation!... I have some fantastic news and shall be posting a new thread. I was surfing the web for alternative remedies for the problem last night after posting this thread, and I found a home remedy. A mixture of 1 fl oz calamine lotion, 1 teaspoon tea tree oil and 1 teaspoon to be applied to the cyst or abscess on a pad or cotton ball for half an hour or so. Hi everybody. I’m new to curezone as a poster, but have been reading for along time :D Any help anyone can give me will be fantastic... Last December I developed a Bartholin’s cyst, not painful, but got bigger and bigger over a period of time. My usual positive thinking didn’t help this time in getting rid of it.
