i assume you are using boiled tap water right? Yes. boiled tap water will rid of chlorine, but not flouride. I have tried to experiment with getting an ”electrical spark” on both ends of the stainless steel and tested it without touching the wires. And I sprinkled them on my bean sprouts versus ordinary water for about 4 days The differences between the two was about 40-50% differences in size. So there is also some health effects from this. Silver technically has a positive charge, but the matrixes of silver ions are attractive to lots of oxygen and thus likely to give it a negative charge overall. Further to testing, if you use plastic and your fingers hold the positive wire inside and negative on outside there is electricity flowing between the two fingers. Putting in two probes both positive and negative of the multimeter set on millivolts will show that the negative volts, why? I do not know. I regularly used multimeter to make negatively charge water. But my method is different from you. As to my previous disagreement on plastic being non conductance, I was wrong.
