Thanks for the advice. Spicy foods and herbs definately help. For awhile, I was taking LLB (or LBB-Lower bowel balance?) suggested on this forum. The fasting gives my gut time to heal without having to focus on digesting food.
Unfortunately fermented foods and probiotics cause flare ups. I have made my own kefir, sauerkrauet, goat kefir, bone broth, etc. However, I find that I can tolerate these foods after a week or so of eating a healthy diet. What works in my case is eating bland foods without any sauces, oils, etc. for a few days, such as chicken and veggies with sea salt and pepper ...
