You guys should do the Nystatin retention enemas with Curcumin. Open a Curcumin capsule and mix the powder with the Nystatin solution you use to do the enemas. I did it the last two months I did enemas with better results. Curcumin is almost non-absorbed and mixed with Nystatin is fungicidal against candida. Nystatin alone is mostly fungistatic. Yes, I left the link. Walmart and many other places. HICA Max is the product. It also has Xylitol that inhibits acetaldehyde production by candida and I believe acetic acid that is also antifungal. Yes, I am aware of the antibiofilm activity of Eugenol, Carvacrol also has activity. Here is an interesting paper about the carcinogenic effect of acetaldehyde and the role of HICA suppressing biofilm formations.

Hi all, I have time I don’t post in this forum but found an study about how NAC can disrupt candida biofilms. There aren’t a lot of effective substances to disrupts biofilms. In the past, in this same forum, people didn’t advice NAC during a candida protocol but I see now how wrong this was. NAC also favors Th1 immune response that is necessary to combat candida. NAC plus EDTA may be a very good combination to disrupt biofilms. I only want to spread the word.

I am surprised the way S. Boulardii works when it is injected directly in the colon. Since Sep 2014, I created a Fecebook group to give support to people who speaks Spanish about candidiasis. I am helping thousands of them around the world. The group has more than 2700 members already, most of them from Spain. No, curcumin is poorly absorbed by the gut lining. To absorb it, you need to take it with black pepper. Curcumin is synergistic with some Rx antifungals improving the Mic of the azole drugs and Nystatin.

Technically, it doesn’t have any activity against candida species. However, some chitin inhibitors are known to work synergistically with other antifungals. The candida cell wall is composed of Beta Glucan, Mannan, Ergosterol, and Chitin mostly. It is known by medicine candida increases chitin production when beta glucan or ergosterol are attacked. I suggest you to add Butyrate to your protocol. Take 3 capsules by day and add one to your retention enemas. The retention enemas using Nystatin and Butyrate are vitals. One time you clean the cecum, you have 80% of the war won. You may use Sodium Bicarbonate instead of salt when you do the cleaning enemas. James, I don’t think that is the absolute true either. There are cases of chronic mucosal candidiasis where there isn’t any proof there were intestinal flora disturbance. One example is CMC. It is an immune problem even when the flora may play a protective role. Many people with AIDS develop severe mucosal candidiasis and isn’t linked to antibiotics. I have not doubt at all without the enemas is impossible for most candida sufferers to win this battle. You are right about no using antifungal/antibacterial substances in a retention enema. The only reason I haven’t adviced fluconazole is the fact of the rapid drug absorption using the rectal way and the liver. With the Nystatin, there isn’t any problem since most of it isn’t absorbed but Fluconazole may saturate the liver with a rapid rectal absorption. Anyway, you are using a very good method and have done your homework researching about it.

Yes, I agree. Severe cases need enemas and an enzyme that disrupts biofilms. EDTA and Interfase are two of the most important products. It looks like IL 17 is more implicated in CMC cases. In contrast, vaginal candidiasis (possibly intestinal too) are dependent of other immune responses (innate) and the antagonism effects of the bacterial flora. I am not clear if IL 17 belongs to the innate or adaptive immunity but it defend us against extracellular pathogens.

Yes, James. Candida Albicans don’t ferment Lactose but if you ingest Lactose, it is degraded to Glucose and Galactose in the intestines by the enzyme Lactase . However, pure Lactulose goes straight to the colon because we don’t have any enzyme to digest it. Yeast don’t ferment Lactulose.
