yeah I agree, it’s been hard for me to completely fast now that classes are back in full effect. it’s good for the first 3 days, and then after that, I just can’t focus and I start losing my balance and my MIND! Feeling like you’re high when you go to class is NOT a good thing. haha. Usually this isn’t a problem for me, but I think it’s because I’m used to eating very little day to day (50-200 cals)... and now I’m going from eating ”normally” (3 meals a day, like 1200 calories) to a complete fast, and it’s gonna be harder... it’s more of a shock. Last year I did a 20-25 day fast, I know it was at least 20 days, but I think I went a little longer..I wasn’t really keeping track because it just became habit. The fast was great, I went from 115 to 98, but I ended it horribly so the end of it turned out to be MISERABLE. A water fast may help you in your situation because it’s really all about cleansing both your body and mind... but they go hand in hand, so it would probably be really helpful to you if you read inspiring books throughout your fast to infuse your mind with healthy thoughts. but- the fast probably won’t be that beneficial in the larger scheme of things if you don’t retrain the way you think. Hi Jenny, I’ve been the same way- with reading posts and other fasting information for a while now, but I have yet to start my extended fast... It will eventually all come back, and maybe more, if you start eating the wrong foods- the same junk that clogged up your body to begin with- and more food than your body needs. Does anyone drink pure 100% aloe vera juice -the kind you buy at health food stores- while fasting? I drink it on a daily basis anyway, only about a half a cup per day. It’s supposed to help your digestive system and be beneficial in many other ways internally... I just wasn’t sure if I should still drink a small amount while water/juice fasting. Congrats for finding the motivation to turn over a new leaf... Fasting can be beneficial and therapeutic, if it’s prepared for correctly, endured with caution, if you understand what will happen physiologically to your body, and you break the fast properly... otherwise, it could be a miserable experience and you may end up damaging yourself. hey, yes, that’s happened to me before too. The longer I fast, the stronger my senses become...i did notice that my sense of smell becomes much keener. Hey, It sounds like you have a decent plan figured out before you start, which is good. If you eat all raw, organic food, you should be able to keep the fat off that you lost during the fast, but remember that you are a pretty serious runner compared to the average person- and 1000 calories a day may not be enough for you. You might want to up that by a couple hundred or so, but you can decide that once you reach the end.... I’ve always read that distilled water is best in all situations, both fasting and on a daily basis. Filters don’t remove many impurities from the water...so I’m not a fan of drinking anything but distilled water.. oh by the way! You are incredibly thin for a 5 foot 7 woman.. I’m 5’7” and about 103, but I actually do have anorexia.
