I have one more huge tip for you. I also saw a periodontist. He did a full gum check and told me I had pockets but he acted like he couldn’t help. You have to be very specific and ask if the pockets are deep enough to pack food and cause a poop smell. The poop smell is due to the break down of food, and certain gases being creating in your mouth, it is similar to what happens in your bowels. Food can not stay in those pocket,it is suppose to be digested if it is going to breath down. Your teeth are smart they don’t want anything to do with gum inflammation, so they back away literally.
