Scrubbing with a toothbrush will only cause the calluses to be removed, and doing this everyday will remove any forming layers of calluses. What happens if the harsh scrubbing stops? Do the lips become completely normal? Do the calluses form again if brushing is stopped, say, after a month or two?   [End]

I’ve been using Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cherry, which consists of 100% white petrolatum, for two weeks now. It’s called minor muzzle rash which occurs mainly because we don’t moisturise that sensitive area well enough. I sometimes get this, and either face moisturiser or a generous amount of lip balm on only those areas helps!   [End]

Has anyone on here actually tried using petroleum jelly, eg Vaseline, long term? I’m trying a new experiment with Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cherry flavor. It might help, it might not, but I don’t understand the negativity towards petroleum jelly on this forum. If you accept fruit acids and steroid creams for experimentation on your lips, why are you so afraid to try plain old Vaseline with the same dedication? I keep trying to do nothing to and put nothing on my lips, but I get so self-conscious! Hi, I have posted here before but not with a full story and details of everything I’ve tried. I thought I’ll share it all with you when my lips heal completely, but I’m getting nowhere so I’ll share everything here and now. My EC started a long time ago. I don’t remember when exactly because I used to bite the skin off my lips, which was probably EC calluses in the first place (yuck!). Hi everyone! I’ve been suffering from EC for years, and I know the cause is biting and picking of lips.
