Please dont worry about asking a question like this - this is what the forums are for:) I would suggest you get to the doctor right now, and ask to have a check - the mirena can move around and can become embedded into the side of the uterus and on occassions can perforate it and move to a completely different part of your body, both of which are obviously serious complications. You could try B vits, zinc, and mineral silica (not the homoeopathic remedy) for your hair (they are also good for hormone production and the silica helps healthy bones too). sorry you are suffering - yes these are i am afraid, all side effects of mirena. some people do bleed a lot for the first few months, then it tails off, but others hardly ever bleed at all - either can happen, quite ”normally” for mirena users, and while it is possible to get pregnant on mirena, you should not take the lack of periods as a sign that you are pregnant. yes migraines are a nasty side effect of mirena, and if you start getting them with mirena you should inform your doctor now and get it out before you get any more problems. hi, your symptoms sound quite acute. Yes the mirena is likely to be the cause. Have you been tested for infection or given any broad spectrum antiobiotic? I don’t like antibiotics generally but they can be useful in certain circumstances and this may be one of them. I agree with you that it is dangerous with the possibility of black outs - not only if you are driving or in charge of your son, but also because of long term health damage that can be done to you. good luck for removal. take it nice and easy when you go home. i found it best to lay down for a while, and would also suggest no bending or lifting anything heavy for a few days and only gentle excercise in the form of walking for a few days too, so as not to stretch or put any strain on that area. It goes without saying that to help avoid long term health problems, any ”normal” synthetic hormones should be avoided. Removal itself should be fine - it shouldnt hurt, just a bit of discomfort. hi, well to be honest, it is unlikely that you will lose the weight while mirena is in, and even when it is out, you may find it difficult to get rid of. However, it sounds like the pain is very servere and you should not put up with that. hi heater, how’s it going? i got that saliva test arrive from USA - and it says to only test the saliva on day 19,20 or 21 of your cycle, if you have regular periods - i was wondering if the test you are having at the pharmacy is the same? did they give you a specific day when it would be best to be tested? hi all, i am posting some links here for you to look into estrogen dominance, which i believe is probably affecting us all who have side effects to mirena. the mirena can cause side effects at any time during usage, and once they start they tend to get worse, so in view of your symptoms my personal suggestion would be to get it out and not have any more synthetic hormonal contraception for at least a year so your body can hopefully settle down. mirena would seem to throw many of us into estrogen dominance and that can bring on all the symptoms you mentioned. hi, the chemical in mirena only lasts around 5 years, although it is not going to be exactly 5 years to the day - for some it may be used up sooner or later than others, so it is possible that the chemical has diminished in your body, as you have had the mirena for a little over the 5 years already and obviously that would make you unprotected as far as pregnancy is concerned. hi, whilst i cannot guarantee it, it is likely to still be the mirena side effects i am afraid. Your hormones will be crazy for a while yet... For many, the side effects can go quite quickly but for others they can take a while and have a slow gradual lessening, over many months. I think i may have told you also on another post that my side effects, for example, have recently come back - numbness and head pain mainly, with extra hair loss - this is nearly 6 months AFTER getting mirena out!! hi, it can take many months for the body to get right after mirena removal and periods can be quite irregular for many people, it is not unusual to miss the odd one here and there, or have it arrive 2 or 3 weeks late. You are not on any other synthetic hormonal product are you?
