I have what is probably the original formula on my website. It came from a book published before 1900. The black salve ingredients include bloodroot, zink chloride, flour and water. My saliva pH went to below 6, which is dangerous. It should be 7.4 in the alkaline range. On the other hand, my stomach pH which needed to be properly acidic became too alkaline, so I used digestive aids to help digest food.
