I basically had the same thing happen to me last year (I was 28 at the time) except that my cycles went from 28 days to around 40-45 days. My biggest issue is getting through the initial withdrawal/detox stage. When I stop eating sugar, I get severely depressed and physically feel terrible. I know it’s just from the detox, but the symptoms are so severe (especially the depression) that I haven’t succeeded in the past. We went to the vet today and she seems to think the problem is fleas. We haven’t seen any fleas, but he has started spending a lot more time outside lately and she said that the discoloration on his hind quarters (as opposed to somewhere else on his body) makes her even more suspicious of fleas. She prescribed Frontline and said to come back if that doesn’t make his skin return to normal. I have a sleep study scheduled for this Friday. They told me to get there at 8:30pm, be asleep by 10:30 or 11pm, and leave at 5:30 am.
