I have been to lips illness specialist and the problem in this condition is that The majority of reported cases of this condition refers to people with psychological problem. So, they treat us like this group. No To conclude, I would say that, in my case, the exfoliative cheilitis comes from a bite to the upper lip. Is your cheilitis exfoliative? Yes, I think so. peeling every few days? If I apply vaseline (or oil, moisturizing creme...) the cycle is the shortest : 3 or 4 days. The dead skin is paper like, it’s reallly thin, almost transparent. If I apply nothing on it and if I’m very cautious when I speak, take a shower,... the cycle can last 3 weeks. The skin is bigger, no more transparent. I would say the skin is like a ”kellog’s corn flakes” after 2 or 3 weeks, a little yellow.
