DESCRIPTION
Fucus vesiculosis is found on submerged rocks on both coasts of North America and in Europe north of the Mediterranean, where it drifts in from time to time through the Strait of Gilbraltar.
The perennial front or thallus is coarse, light yellow or brownish-green in color, erect, and from two to three feet in height. It attaches itself to the rocks by branched, root-like, discoid, woody extremities developed from the base of the stalk.
