Try to take vitamin C, regardless of anything else you may do. Vitamin C is one of those rare things which can penetrate those microscopic blood vessels in your gums and can help repair the damage to gums and bone. Also, I’d try rinsing my mouth with 3% hydrogen peroxide - easily obtained in any pharmacy. It will kill whatever you have in your gums and will hopefully help heal it (just don’t swallow it!).
