For the most part the general outlines on the diet are the same. Then, there is the gray area, on the anti candida diet, where you will find some lists with a food and some without that same food. Some foods will cause reactions in some but not in others. If you are familiar with your symptoms, you should be able to tell if something you eat causes a flare up.

For me, in the beginning I was eating vegetables cooked and raw, clean animal protein, pumkin seeds, very small portions of lentils and quinoa, green apples, grapefruits, and soy milk. Several of these things are controversial on the diet (green apples, lentils, soymilk). However, I was able to eat them with no reations. My diet at this point was very monotonous and almost anything else would cause bloating. I could also not tolerate leftovers and most foods prepared by someone else caused some sort of reation even if they seemed like they would be ok.

Shortly into the diet, I discovered the anti candida version of the buckwheat pancake. These became a staple food in my diet. I ate them for breakfast and as a snack everyday for months. I would top them with homemade yogurt and generous amounts of cinnamon. I think I would have starved without these. Give them a try.
