Hello Everyone My name is Jenn and I know I have Social Phobia. I am only 17 and it started about 3 years ago. I hate to go to big social gatherings, I don't like to eat in front of people, i'm always scared about what people think of me, Anytime I answer a question in class my face turns red, I don't like to get up and throw my lunch out, I don't like meeting new people and so on, so anyways my mom made an appointment for me to go see a physciatrist and i'm worried about what medication he is going to prescribe and would like to know if anyone of good anxiety medicine. I'm not very fond about taking medication for it because of side effects and the fact that Benzodiazepines can be addictive, but I don't know how else to get rid of it and it's really putting a damper on the way I live my life, I also have a semi-formal to attend next weekend which I didn't want to go to but it means a lot to the person that asked me and I can't back out now so even when I just think about it I get nervous so any suggestions on that would also be muchly appreciated but yeah I would just like some information on different medications and if you know any pretty successful ones. Thanks.
