My husband had a sleep apnea issue. He did the excercises on this website and got over it. We taped the excercises to the bathroom mirror and did them before bed every night. Within two weeks, he had quit snoring and was breating better in his sleep which allowed him to stay asleep and wake up more refreshed and less achy. He had been reading a lot about sleep apnea and found that the oxygen deprivation that causes most cases is related to laxity in the tubes in the throat. Check it out. They are very simple exercises to do and shouldn't take long to tell if it's helping or not. I do them too, even though I don't snore or have an apnea issue, and notice that my sinuses open up and allow more refreshing breating while I'm falling asleep. I figure I'll use them more during allergy seasons to help keep my sinuses clear. An additional exercise that we like is clamping your tongue gently with your teeth and swallow a few times. This is a stronger workout for those muscles, so you may want to wait until you have warmed up with the other exercises for a week or so. The swallowing exercise can make you feel like you have a slight llump in your throat for a week or so, but that's normal and goes away as the muscle strengthens. It doesn't hurt or obstruct your throat though, it's just because the muscles are not used to this good of a straign.
