Re: Is increased fatigue a sign of healing? by JamesG ..... Adrenal Fatigue Forum

Yeah, I'm going through the same thing. I make progress and start thinking this is it!
Then I wake up the next day and I'm right back into feeling awful. My ND says
that this is part of the process and that it will generally take 6-12 months to fully
recover. It sucks, but I am definitely learning to be patient, something I was not capable
of in the past (this is one of the reasons I became adrenal fatigued).
The fatigue is worse between 2-5 p.m. and this is due to our bodies releasing (or not) various hormones
in tune with the circadian rhythm. Then, after my evening meal I get a sudden rush of energy
and sometimes have trouble sleeping. The other symptom I struggle with is hypoglycemia.
If I don't eat every 2-3 hours I basically lose all cognitive function and this is in addition to
my already horrendous brain fog. I used to consider my self intelligent and quick witted and
now I have trouble remembering what I ate for breakfast.
I sometimes feel very lonely when dealing with this, because conventional medicine doesn't recognize
this condition until it becomes Addison's (80-90% adrenal failure). When I went to my GP he said that
I was simply depressed and wrote a RX for Zoloft and scheduled an appointment for a psychologist.
Needless to say, I never went back. Even my own family thinks that it's all in my head and my girlfriend
has pretty much written me off. She joked at one point that my loved ones were going to get together
for an intervention! But I refuse to give up on myself and God willing I will heal and become stronger
than I ever been.
I'm curious to know if there are any posters on this forum that have healed themselves of AF and
what their experiences entailed. It would be very inspirational for the rest of us that are still
struggling to read stories of health triumph over AF.
I wish you the best of luck in your healing too (thank heaven for Curezone).
