Sorry, Elise,

Yes, it gave me relief, so much so that it may have been a week or more before I needed to use it the second time.

For me, the problem comes back, though not as seriously.

I think I need it again now, after several weeks. But, not nearly as badly as in the beginning.

Other things I had tried, recommended by an ND, did not work at all.

(Did I describe how AWFUL it was?)

If you want to use this treatment frequently, I would guess that you might want to use less grapefruit seed oil than 5 drops per sitz bath. Maybe you would want to also use only a tiny bit of Aloe Vera juice or gel each time.

As I say, I'm guessing, but I think that these are quite powerful cleansers and that caution is best on such sensitive skin.

Luckily my problem was external. Some have some problems internally, I understand.

After my first treatment, I put one drop of grapefruit seed extract in a glass of water and drank it, on two consecutive days. If I remember correctly, I felt a tiny bit of 'cleansing effect' for a couple of days thereafter. You know, as though you sit up and take notice of changes.

Did you try the treatment yet, Elise? I hope it helped.

Um, since I already embarrassed myself by admitting to sitting in my bathroom sink, I might as well now admit that I have been trying some Urine Therapy. I take some drops from midstream urine and place them on and under my tongue, three or four times a day. There is little or no taste.

All I've read of UT makes avoidance of it seem very foolish. And, we don't have to know what's wrong. The only things we MUST do are things we hope to do anyway. Drink clean water, avoid toxins, and relax.

A urine fast is a little more strenuous, and a person should read a great deal about it before trying.

One question I haven't been able to answer is that, if urine is healing, why does it hurt, and not heal, a genital rash?

The only possible answer I can think of is that I have pressed on and scratched the rash. That would mean that my usual urine stings areas of damaged skin.

Another possible irritant could have been chemicals in toilet paper; in tap water; or from laundry detergent in clothes and towels. I rapidly learned to do without soap, or any of my usual creams or salves. I did try coconut oil as a salve at night. It worked to relieve the itch and pain, but those came back in the morning.

I do thank the woman who told my husband of the probiotic, grapefruit seed extract, and aloe vera procedure.
