Hi Tansybelle. I guess this would be another example of our own explanation of something that we can't find within our bibles specifically to completely verify. We have no examples of animals having a spirit, other than the needed breath of life. Once they die, that breath leaves the body. Animals are in no need of salvation as humans are. I would see no reason for God to not allow us to enjoy our pets if our hearts yearned for them. After all, Jesus is busy preparing a place for us...I'm sure He wants His bride (the church) to be wowed by the glory and wonder of it all when we get there. He loves giving good gifts. :)
Now the tricky part is to not let these "experiences" we have become the only thing we measure what is good and what is bad...or what is of God and what is not. Even though the bible may not specifically mention whether a spirit may speak on behalf of a pet, we may be able to find other scriptures that may state whether communicating with a spirit is something we should do or not. Have you studied these things in much detail to see if you can discern? I think you mentioned something about spirits on this forum before.
