I can understand--my mom was in a coma her final days--while she wasn't in obvious pain, we never got to say goodbye either. It's very hard, since it ended up we had to take her off the lifesupport and allow her to pass. I can't believe she didn't feel anything in all that though.
And who really decides what comfortable is?? Maybe comfortable for them, eh? I don't imagine you were actually paying---so state-funded cases are rarely that well funded--maybe they just ran out of the amount of money allotted the average hospital stay for government assistance.
And I developed high blood pressure after living in this old house, so yes, it's entirely possible. Dr. Clark found high blood pressure was caused by cadmium build up in the kidneys usually that leeches out of old metal plumbing.
Any non-plastic pipes put you at risk, even just a small joint of it anywhere in the system. Water filters don't help either because it fills up the filter, and then starts running on thru after about a week.
If you can bring in water from a different source and only bathe in the apartments water, that might help. I do filtered bottled water myself. I hope it filters out the solvents usually found in bottled water, *crossing fingers*
Dr. Clark never discussed living next to drug users obviously, but she does address sealing your house from an attached garage to keep out gas fumes, also horribly toxic and also quite unaddressed by 'modern' medicine. You might try some of that to lessen your exposure to the fumes.
Her book, "Cure for All Diseases" has that in the environmental clean up section. It's here for free as a PDF in the download section.
