Hello again Biophiliac,

If your coated tongue is due to a parasitical infection such as candida-albicans (a fungus), then water-only fasting will eliminate the "terrain" which has caused this overgrowth.

Toxemia will provide this inner "environmental terrain" for any fungus or parasitical infestation to thrive, so eliminating this bodily environment will rid your body of the candida and therefore the coated tongue.
Candida plays havoc with the digestive process and your coated tongue can therefore be most likely a symptom of this disruption.
