That sound more like a hiatal hernia than costo actually.
Did you know that reducing the acid will actually make your condition worse with time? The reason most get acid reflux is from a lack of acid in their stomachs during digestion...I know that sounds counter intuitive, but it's true. The best thing you can do is amp up your digestive acids and the reflux will resolve. I was on a tagamet thing for years, and finally switched to ginger to control my acid pain...and and it worked better than Tagamet.
But all in all, you may be right that some costo is caused by acid reflux. Costo, after years of listening to people, can be caused by many many things, but the underlying issue is, and always will be, inflammation out of control (chronic costo, not from an injury).
