It's unfortunate that you can't purchase Iodine crystals to make your own Lugol's solution anymore, and can only purchase 2% and it costs $12 for 2 ounces.

Anyone here with a chemistry background; would this version be pure enough to make on your own?

I'm not really looking to do it so much as thinking it would be nice to know that i could make a decent amount in the future if it was necessary.
