Hi,
Thanks, alesiom11, I've updated the Warnings section of the wiki to include your experience. Out of curiosity, do your lips look very similar to how they looked in winter of 2006? Very inflamed and yellowish crusts? I know you said you made some progress with dental hygiene and coco shea moisturizer. My shea butter should arrive any day now.
-----------------------------------------------------
When I let them alone, doing / applying nothing, yes, they look like the way they were in winter 2006.
I use a little scissors to cut the dead skin. I often brush my teeths & gums & tongue (2 or 3 times a day). Applying some Mixa lip balm seems to help a little bit. Shea butter doesn't seem to help. Creme au Calendula from Laboratoire BOIRON helps to manage the problem also : the cycle will be shorter. No big crusts, just small ones - more often...
Nevertheless, I admit that it's hard to live with this, especially when the top lip is involved in the peeling cycle & when a lip injury has triggered the condition: indeed, the injury still remains beneath the dead skin...
