The most accurate finding in a test would be a direct culture of any organism and this applies to candida albicans as well. Immunocomplexes via blood testing produces false positives and false negatives which has historically been problematic. PCR testing for the DNA of an organism is much more sensitive the immuncomplex testing. High sensitivity can produce a false positive.
