I hadn't had any problems with eczema since July of this year until this past Wednesday. While at work, I looked down at my hands and my skin had turned bright pink. Later in the day, distinct red spots had appeared on my hands along with the bright pink skin, and I knew that eczema was coming up. It hadn't broken through my skin yet, though, and thankfully, I was able to avert the attack by applying Doctor's Defense Zen Fusion Creme when I got home.
I found this episode very discouraging since I had been eczema-free since July, and I was hoping my old nemesis was behind me. Apparently not. I looked back over what I had done differently that might explain the eczema, and it occurred to me that I had started eating cookies with high levels of soy in them. The protein in the soy cookies is supposed to satisfy the urge to snack, which is why I had ordered them. It occurred to me that, as with another poster on our board, I might be allergic to soy. I did some research and found some interesting articles on soy allergies and eczema. This article discusses how, through food elimination, we can find out what foods may be causing our eczema.
