That was a GREAT tip/reminder: When you eat a meal start out with a small amount then wait 20 minutes and see if you're still hungry, nine times out of ten you won't be hungry and won't need to eat any more.  But I bet we probably wouldn't have to use this trick if we we're masticating our food properly because the meal would take longer to eat which would give our brains time to figure out we're full. ...and oh SO true!

Proper assimilation is acquired by drinking the solid foods and chewing the liquid food. This is an old and true axiom. What this means is we should thoroughly chew our solid foods which mixes the saliva with the food until it becomes liquid, and then we drink it. The liquid foods must be swished (or chewed) in the mouth, then swallowed. The saliva thoroughly mixed with the foods is the key that opens up the doors of digestion.

Thank you for reminding me Uny, once I start on solid foods again I'll be sure to remember this pearl of wisdom.

There are somewhere around EIGHT different digestive enzymes in the saliva, and we create up to a pint and a half of saliva for every 'meal' we eat.  On Dr. Christopher's "first" IP, he subscribed to the healing protocol of Johanna Brandt and her 'grape diet' his patient ate nothing but grapes & grape juice.  Later he changed his IP to be a full week of carrot juice, then a full week of apple juice, followed by a third week of grape juice. (We use a more balanced juicing regime, per Dr. Schulze/Gerson)


But how can that BE? Cancer thrives on sugar and many of his patients were diabetic or hypoglycemic.  Grape juice is particularly LADEN with sugar!.  #1 Cancer thrives on white/processed sugar; and #2 (likely even more importantly), ALL of his diabetic & hypoglycemic patients had no problematic alterations in blood sugar IF they thoroughly 'chewed their juices'!  So, the digestive enzymes in the saliva broke down the sugar in the juices enough NOT to adversely affect the blood sugar. WOW.

Just THINK how much more nutrition we'll be assimilating (and how much smoother our digestive system will operate) if we actually USE the digestive enzymes with which we've been endowed.

Hmmm, whoever designed our bodies sure knew what they was a doin', eh? :::grin:::  Too bad we humans have such a HORRIBLY difficult time letting go of our egos & intellects and just sticking with basic 'form & function'.  ::::sigh::::  Like my mother-in-law is forever saying, "Well, we'll do it 'till we don't!" 

Drink your solids & chew your juices!  :)
