From what I understand, the coated tongue is a side effect of your body being fully in the ketosis stage. You get there when all your glucose stores have been used up. The time it takes to get into ketosis varies from person to person. Its not unusual to not have a coated tongue on day 4 and it doesn't mean you're not detoxing already.
