yes i have been on this forum for years, but i have not been in school for years to experience that kind of stress. in the summer my lips were healed and they didnt bother me at all, they werent inflammed or irritated, and they hardly peeled except for a flake or two. Then in september i went back to school after years off. and not just regular school, law school which is a thousand times more stressful. two weeks into school my lips went from normal to awful and sticky and i had hard times talking but it evened out. with final exams lately they were so bad for a month that i couldnt talk. now they are fine and not that bad the moment after my exams finish.
if you read my heading i said a factor, not the sole cause. i am on here to find reductaion factors because i believe we have this for life. i say that because i had surgery to remove it from my lip while getting a biopsy and the affected area goes down into your deeper layers of the skin an inch down. that it what i had removed and it came back from under that and spread and made it worse. if you look into the way the cells and fungus work as my derm explained, it branches out from deep inner layers like a tree spreading branches and growing from the ground up. this is what ec does and by cutting a branch off will not cure it. he explained that this is why the immune system is triggered here because it is fighting the fungus (not abnormal fungus but the same fungus that all human beings have there in there lips but ours is just more and our codies are not adapted to deal with the level we have). therefore, to find ways to reduce stress or the cortisol theory which i think is correct will help.
