Of course you are so right mh there is no real good reason for not getting 100 mpg or for having a vehicle that does not break down except for the profits of the ruling class being optimized and the fact that we have to all have lots of unnecessary work to do to keep us busy and worried and too tired to pay attention to what's really going on on the planet.
....and did you see the movie "Who Killed the Electric Car? - Interesting flick and kind of heartbreaking at that.
...and here I am just being pleased to be getting 38 to 42 mpg... shows how they manage to gear us down by reprogramming everything. financially the yaris is the best I can do for now. Other Yaris owners have said that you can get a whole lot more mileage out of it if you baby it more also - I haven't been tracking it so far except for the trip to L.A. because that was easy - We had always had to stop at least once on the way down to refuel and we got all the way on 10 gallons - so we considered ourselves lucky at $3.00 a gal. LOL That was about 45 mpg We live north of S.F. and we filled up when we got to L.A.
