I would say a 7. I have been sick for 3 years 1/2, and although I am better than during the acute/bedridden phase, I am still quite sick. I do not work, cannot shop--too weak to carry anything heavy--cannot walk for very long, but I am able to shower and dress.
The worse part is the allergies--I am reduced to a dozen foods, and if I try to reintroduce other foods, I get an allergic reaction, at times even anaphylactic shock. If I have an allergic reaction, I stay in bed for 2 or 3 days, and lack of oxygenation seems to boost candida growth--catch 22.
There is another catch 22--all the substances that are supposed to cure candida give me strong allergic reactions-garlic, pau d'arco, coconut oil, etc. The reaction is drilling headaches, bloodshot eyes and dark circles, endless serie of sneezes, anxiety attacks, horrible feelings of gloom and doom, very fast hearbeat, breezing problems, etc.
I am hanging in there but there days when I just want to lay down and die. Since it's the 3d time I have this problem and I finally got better on my own before, I hope the same spontaneous recovery will happen this time too, but it's taking much longer this time--I am in my 50s.
And I cannot believe how so many people so sick with candida are totally ignored by doctors, it makes it worse to have no medical recognition nor help.
